Just as I was finishing cooking the Grotto's books for the week, I got a call from a friend I hadn't heard from in a while wanting to know if I wanted to see The Departed. In about ten minutes at the theater eight blocks away. Why not?
After it had ended, she mentioned that David Lynch was in town for the northwest premiere of his new moive, Inland Empire, and that he would be introducing it at a midnight screening. It was already 11:45, and the theater was on my way home anyway, so we went. Sure enough, the man himself was there, read a poem from the upanishads, and then introduced the movie.
It was a very David Lynch movie, which means that right now I can't talk about it until my subconcious works through a lot of the material in the next few days.
How very odd.
