split up into pieces

In very late 2006, I bought a puzzle while at a game shop one afternoon with some friends. Anticipating the time off over the holidays, it seemed like a good activity that might keep me reasonably out of trouble.

Pretty much wrong on all counts.

A little over a year later it still occupies the entire bar in my living room, the frame and perhaps a third of it completed. Much of the progress was made by other people after my initial burst of energy.

I've decided to give up on it. At the moment, I have no shortage of activities that I can also be doing, and I've finally convinced myself that there's nothing wrong with not wanting to do this jigsaw puzzle. It's not a character failing, it's not quitting, it's just something that I don't really enjoy anymore. Not a big deal.
