The profits high but the cost is higher

I had in mind a simple transaction: I put the ad on Craigslist, get some responses, and sell the printer for a nominal price to keep it out of the dumpster.

Somehow this has lead to having a discussion about the state of the tech industry. I'm not sure why he felt it necessary to google me beforehand for a simple $20 transaction, or to have an elaborate conversation about some ideas he has about interesting directions the tech industry might go.

I am well aware that privacy on the Internet is essentially ephemeral. Doing due diligence before a date might be a decent idea. But this has already become somewhat wearisome for a transaction of this size and simplicity.
